Nellie: Adopted 2022
“In 2022, we began searching for a rescue dog to join our family, and that’s when we came across Nellie’s advert through Ana the Rescue. From the very first contact, we were given detailed information about Nellie’s character, along with plenty of photos and videos. We were also guided through the process of adopting a dog from abroad, which made us feel fully informed and reassured when making our decision.
While waiting for Nellie’s arrival, we received regular updates and videos, and the transport company used was excellent, professional, reliable, and trustworthy. We were even able to track Nellie’s journey, which gave us great peace of mind.
When Nellie finally arrived, we expected her to be nervous after such a long journey. Instead, she greeted us with a wagging tail and so much joy, which showed just how well she had been loved and cared for by Ana.
Now, more than three years later, we can confidently say adopting Nellie was the best decision we have ever made. She has brought endless happiness to our lives. Being part of the Ana the Rescue community has also been wonderful, we continue to keep in touch with other adopters and have always felt supported by Ana from the very beginning. We will be forever grateful to Ana for trusting us with Nellie and for the incredible care she provides to every dog she rescues <3.”

Olive: Adopted 2022
“We were kept so well informed throughout the process of adopting Olive. Having already adopted an overseas rescue before, the process felt familiar, but the level of communication this time was exceptional. We received weekly updates, and additional messages whenever there was new information to share. On the day of travel, we were even given access to a tracker so we could follow Olive’s journey across Europe to her forever home, which made the experience incredibly special.
She arrived exactly on time and walked straight into our lives, and our hearts, as though she had always been part of the family. From the very beginning, Olive decided she would be the baby of the house, happily doted on by our other dog, and that’s exactly how things have stayed! She was quick to toilet train, picked up the basics like “sit” and “stay” with ease, and has since shown us her huge, cheeky personality. Olive has a wonderful way of making herself understood, and if you’re lucky enough to be in her chosen circle, you know just how special that is.
Beyond welcoming Olive, we’ve also gained a lovely community of likeminded people who care deeply about giving these dogs the lives they deserve. We cannot thank Ana and Wendy enough for all the dedication, effort, and love they put into every single adoption. Olive was the easiest addition to our household, and she has enriched all of our lives in ways we couldn’t have imagined. We feel so grateful to have been trusted with her. Thank you for bringing Olive home to us.”

Evie: Adopted 2020
Stanley: Adopted 2024
“We adopted Evie in 2020, and she has been my soul dog ever since. She is wonderful with people including little children, other dogs, and cats, and is a complete angel. We’ve taken her on adventures with us and even done dog agility with her.
Ana has always been available for us to message and ask questions. She was incredibly supportive and helped us decide which dog to adopt next based on what Evie would like.
All rescue dogs come with some baggage and we were happy to work on her initial reactivity, pulling on the lead due to being overwhelmed, and take care when she guards food - but all these have been completely manageable.
Our family wouldn’t be complete without our fur baby Evie.
We also fostered Stanley in 2024. He was younger and needed toilet training, but was another completely safe, people-oriented dog, who snuggled me in bed, played fetch, and played beautifully with Evie. Ana’s dogs seem to have such good love and care while they are in Serbia that they arrive ready to love you with all their heart.”

Roo: Adopted 2023
“We adopted Roo in 2023 and it was the best decision we ever made! She is fantastic with other dogs and loves people more than anything. When she first got to us, she was only 5 months old and terrified of even a car passing us on a walk. With more exposure to different environments, she is now the most confident dog (maybe a bit too confident!), has such a hilarious personality and loves cuddles in bed. Ana and Wendy were fantastic at letting us know the process and how we would get her to the UK, we didn’t have a single worry about the adoption. Ana loves these dogs like they’re her children, I couldn’t think of a better person to adopt from.” - Georgie, adopter 2023
Pablo: Adopted 2021
“One of the things I was most worried about adopting a dog off of Facebook, was that it could be a scam. You have to pay up front for a dog that may not even exist. I’m glad to say I contacted a couple of other past adopters and took the plunge - I now have 3 dogs from Ana (Oreo, Pablo, and Bob) and love them all to bits. They all get on so well I have been truly blessed.
Can I just mention Wendy’s involvement too and how the communication was very good through her. The dogs have a long journey to the Uk so time and lots of patience is a must to anyone wanting to adopt- some of these babies have been through hell and need a lot of understanding. Would adopt from Ana time and time again ( but I’m running out of space and would struggle with 4- god only knows how Ana does it!)” - Becca, adopter 2021, 2023, 2024
Oreo: Adopted 2023
Bob: Adopted 2024
Indi: Adopted 2020
“I became aware of Ana’s rescue in 2019 when my daughter adopted her beautiful GSP from her, and now joined by a Pointer/Weimaraner.
Ana and I became friends and the more I got to know her the more my respect grew, she is the most dedicated, compassionate and selfless person I know and gives her whole being to her rescues.
Because of her ethics and care for all of her dogs I became her UK contact and home checker. I then became adopter of my beautiful, sweet natured little boy Indi 5 years ago, he was joined 18 months ago by my sweet girl Nola. I cannot recommend @ana_the_resque_ enough.” - Wendy Cox, adopter 2020, UK contact and home checker for Ana.
Nola: Adopted 2023
Tilo: Adopted 2023
“I stumbled upon Ana online after my previous dogs had sadly passed away and my house felt empty. After reaching out to a few adoptee who had rescued from Ana, and feeling reassured, I messaged asking about Tilo, as he stole my heart. The whole process was so smooth and although it felt strange paying for a dog you’ve never met, I couldn’t wait to have him home with me. Ana sent lots of pictures and videos of Tilo during the wait for his transportation date and was always updating me with blood tests results etc. Ana stressed how patience with Tilo was going to be key as he was timid and confused. I never expected Tilo’s transition to be easy and Ana never sugar coated anything, she was truthful about everything.
You can really tell that she loves all the dogs she saves and just wants them to go to good, lovely people who will give them the lives they deserve. Adopting Tilo was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and I’ll never regret it. He has made my house a home again. I will forever be in debt to Ana for rescuing him and trusting me with him.” - Danielle, adopter 2023. See Tilo’s Instagram here.
Rita: Adopted 2021
“When I first got into contact with Wendy, she was so lovely and very helpful. She explained the whole adoption process to us and was more than happy to answer any questions that we had.Ana and Wendy sent us regular updates and photos of Rita before she arrived home. My dog Rufus was poorly before Rita arrived and Ana messaged me to see how he was, which was so lovely. Ana and Wendy both care so much about all animals, even one’s that weren’t adopted from them, which just shows how wonderful they are 🥰
Our wee Rita arrived in August 2021. She was scared stiff when she came off the van so I carried her inside and sat on the couch with her. We made sure that she had a nice safe space for her to decompress and settle in. She wasn’t interested in that at all! Rita really wanted to get to know our boy Rufus but he wanted nothing to do with her. He’s a nervous boy, he sniffed her a few times then went away in another room to sulk. We thought it would take weeks for them to be able to be near each other but by the second day she won him over and they were snuggled up together she’s such a funny character and a beautiful girl, she makes us smile everyday.” - Katherine, adopter 2021.
Olive: Adopted 2023
“When Olive came into our lives nearly two years ago, it felt like fate. I don’t even remember how exactly I came across Ana, but one day while scrolling on my phone, Olive’s photo appeared—and I simply couldn’t stop thinking about her. There was something about Olive and something about Ana that drew me in. After talking with my husband, we decided to adopt Olive, and I was over the moon. We already had our dog Alvin for five years, and now we were welcoming another soul into our family. I still remember the day Olive arrived—it was during a heavy storm here in the UK. We couldn’t even take her for a proper walk to meet Alvin, so she came straight into the house. It was a new and intense moment for all of us, but it worked out beautifully.
Olive is such a character. She loves to eat (especially bananas and blueberries—her absolute favourites!), she loves to play with Alvin, and she loves to run. But most of all—she loves cuddles. Cuddles, cuddles, cuddles all the time! She has settled into our family so naturally that I can’t imagine life without her. We would love to adopt more dogs and help Anna even further, but for now we would probably need a bigger property to do that. Still, we continue to support her work by donating for two other dogs, Igloo and Goldie, covering their monthly fees so they can stay safe in foster homes. And you can do the same—you don’t always need to physically adopt a dog to make a difference. By sponsoring or donating, you are giving these animals a chance to live, to be safe, and to stay off the streets.
We are so grateful to Ana for the amazing work she does, rescuing and caring for dogs like Olive. Thanks to her, Olive has not only been saved but has become a beloved member of our family.” - Gosia, adopter 2023.
