About Me & My Mission: Saving Lives, One Paw at a Time
My name is Ana, and I’ve been rescuing dogs for as long as I can remember. Since I was a child, I’ve always brought animals home — we always had dogs in our family. But over the last 15 years, this turned into something much bigger, more serious, and more urgent. In that time, I have rescued around 1,000 dogs and cats from the streets, from dangerous conditions, and from heartbreaking neglect.
In rural parts of Serbia, the situation for animals is dire. Owners still abandon dogs — even tiny puppies separated from their mothers before their eyes are open. Sterilization has been available for over 15 years, but people still don’t spay or neuter. Instead, they throw unwanted litters on the streets, at cemeteries, or at garbage dumps. Both dogs and cats suffer this fate.
